Jeanine and Brandon were busy with life during their engagement. They were both starting new jobs, moving from Baltimore to New York City, moving into a new apartment, and planning a wedding hours away on Brandon’s parents’ Finger Lakes vineyard.
We planned catering and cake tastings for a weekend visit, along with florist appointments and a trip to the reception venue. Jeanine and Brandon ended up choosing Seymour’s BBQ from Rome, who set up an exceptional spread for dinner the night of the wedding. We had to rent everything: the tent, tables, bathrooms, buses…and even had to throw in a couple of heaters the week of when the temperatures plummeted and the rain started! We went with McCarthy’s in Rochester, and they were amazing with the flexibility and responsiveness.
The night before the wedding, we realized that the flood soaked ground under the tent was going to be tough for this outdoor reception. The morning of the wedding, we went to plan B and bought enough outdoor carpeting to cover the entirety of the grass floor! Between that and the heaters warming up the tent, the evening turned out to be amazing. Though the air outside was very chilly for late May, the tent was warm, the crowd happy, and the sunset was gorgeous over the vineyards and Seneca Lake.
