Dori and Andrew got engaged and planned their wedding while living in two different cities. Dori was finishing up school in the south while her mom helped plan from Texas. Andrew was here, going to graduate school at SU, and we did a lot of the ground work and planned many vendor meetings for those times when Dori came up to visit.

Dori loved details and her wedding showed her attention to detail in every way. The hand-made, amazing twig chandeliers, the different flavored pies on each table and pie tin favors, the hand painted thumbprint tree, the incredible entryway into the Lodge, the unique lighting, incredible centerpieces, and the sparklers and fireworks and the end of the night; it all came together perfectly.

The wedding and reception exemplified the two of them and each of their personalities. It was a beautiful mix of both Dori and Andrew. The ceremony took place at SU’s Hendricks Chapel and a full choir sang a capella in the chapel. Dori & Andrew had worked with a crew of friends the week before the wedding to create hundreds of paper airplanes for friends and family to throw, bringing parts of both of them into the wedding.

As the guests loaded back onto the shuttles which took them up the winding roads from the Lodge in Skaneateles back to their Syracuse hotels, I found Dori and Andrew sitting in the last two chairs in the Lodge after the reception ended, talking happily. They were excited and exhausted. They didn’t want to leave. It was a magical night.
